A Linux desktop application that imports photos and videos from memory cards, drives, and folders at high speed, renaming them, sorting them into dated folders, and backing them up as it goes.

It is a hard fork of Rapid Photo Downloader, originally created by Damon Lynch. Everything the original does is still here, with a reworked interface and a long list of additions. It installs and runs side by side with the original, sharing no files and no namespace conflicts.

Highlights

A much simpler interface: a standard menu bar, one unified Preferences window, and a layout that reads top-left to bottom-right.
A new Timeline - a histogram of your shots over time, with a trim-style slider you drag to pick a date range and filter what gets imported.
Show, hide, or select by file type and by whether a file was downloaded before, from one row of buttons rather than menus and per-thumbnail checkboxes.
A Drive space window showing what is on the source and what is free at each destination, side by side.
Broader file-type support: HEIC/HEIF, AVIF where a decoder is present, WebP, JPEG 2000, and common stills alongside raw and JPEG.
Smarter filename dates and video thumbnails, plus light and dark themes independent of the desktop.
